Land losers boycott Essar Steel's award passing camp

Essar Steel's proposed pellet plant near Paradip in Orissa's Jagatsinghpur district has hit yet another roadblock with hundreds of land losers gheraoing the district officials and boycotting the award passing camp at Kujang.

These land losers have pressed for the fulfillment of their demands which include fixing the rate of private land at Rs 25 lakh per acre, providing employment opportunities in the project and proper implementation of the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R & R) Policy of the state government.
