The two models S600 and S500 will be priced at Rs 2.60 crore and 1.67 crore respectively. The S600 will be a fully-built import variant, while S500 will be assembled in India. After Germany, India is the only market where S500 is locally produced.

According to Kern, the newly launched S600 Maybach will compete with other super luxury brands like Rolls Royce and Bentley. He also said that the it has received overwhelming response from the customers and booking quota for this year is over. However, he declined to reveal the booking numbers.
The company had discontinued the Maybach brand in 2011 after years of losses and now makes a come-back as a sub-brand. The Maybach is a full 207mm longer when compared to the long wheelbase S-class.
Mercedes-Maybach is the third product after the GLA and the CLA that Mercedes-Benz India has rolled-out in the last few months. This is Mercedes-Benz India's 12th launch in the year 2015 and will launch three more models by end of this year. The company is locally producing eight different models within its variants. The localisation percentage varies at differrent levels highest up to 60 per cent.
With the the investment of Rs 1,000 crore Mercedes-Benz plant in India is part of the global assembly network, which comprises further locations in Thailand, Vietnam, Malayasia, Indonesia, and will be joined by Brazil in 2016 where a new assembly plant is currently under construction.
