Mukesh Ambani wants ETV to focus on general entertainment biz

Mukesh Ambani, the new media mogul of country, has his strategy cut out. For the ETV bouquet of channels, the focus would be the general entertainment channels (GEC).  According to sources, Ambani wants the GEC segment of ETV to be the front running business. ETV channels were restructured recently, to pave way for a specific focus on the GEC business.

The channels now have a separate 24-hour news channel and existing GEC channels are being spiced up with new and wide range of content line-ups. Channels such as ETV Bangla, ETV Marathi, Kannada have got their separate version of 24 hour news channels while existing GEC channels are being getting a spin in content.
