Munnabhai boosts Gandhi book sales

As the phenomenon of 'Gandhigiri' catches on due to the huge success of 'Lage Raho Munnabhai', the sale of Gandhian literature has witnessed a sudden spurt in the city.
 
The Gandhi Book Centre, run by the Bombay Sarvodaya Mandal, has posted a record-breaking sale of books worth Rs 5.12 lakh in September alone, as compared to a monthly average of Rs 1.5 lakh.
 
Yesterday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, a total of 2,000 books worth Rs 38,000 were sold, T R K Somaiya of the Mandal said here. "It seems to be an effect of the movie 'Lage Raho Munnabhai', which has led the youth to rediscover Gandhi and his ideals.
