Nightingales ties up with Medplus

Two firms join hands for home delivery of medicines

Nightingales Home Healthcare, a unit of Medwell Ventures and specialty home health care provider, has announced partnership with MedPlus, a pharmacy retail chain in India. Through this association, Nightingales' customers can avail the services of Medplus for their ongoing needs of medication, through their wide network.

The partnership between a home health care provider and Pharmacy chain shows the growing ecosystem of partnerships for customer centric healthcare delivery. MedPlus has a network of 1,244 pharmacies across India and is the fastest growing chain of retail pharmacy in the country. Nightingales is currently present in Bengaluru and Hyderabad and is on the path to create a pan India network of specialty home health care delivery. Currently, it has 9,000 subscribers and provides 54,750 bedside nursing days besides home visits by doctors and multidisciplinary rehab specialists.
 

With the rising tide of chronic disease conditions in India particularly in the area of cardiovascular diseases, pulmonary disorders, neurological ailments, diabetes and arthritis have necessitated that patients are on consistent and long-term medication support. Patients suffering from these chronic diseases need to procure and maintain a regular supply of the drugs prescribed by their doctors where consistency of molecule and quality is of foremost importance.

Under the new partnership, Nightingales has added another specialised home care service to its offerings by making prescription medicines as well as IV fluids from MedPlus, available to their patients at their homes.

As a specialty home healthcare provider in chronic diseases we were looking at the right partner which will not only have the inventory of medications but will also have an efficient logistics network to supply them to at our patients homes. In Medplus we have the right national partner," said Lalit Pai, CEO, Nightingales Home Healthcare.

Commenting on the partnership, Madhukar Gangadi, Chief Executive Officer of MedPlus, said "Our presence across 12 states through 1,244 pharmacy retail stores will ensure that we reach out to Nightingales patients and their families through our robust network. We would also be delivering the medicines home through our online gateway www.medplusmart.com and medicine administration will be managed by Nightingales. "

All offers on MedPlus products would also be available for Nightingales patients.
