BS Reporter Kolkata

Openbravo, the Spanish web-based open source ERP solutions provider, is targetting the huge small and medium enterprise (SME) sector in India to increase business, a company official said. Vice-president of channel sales of Openbravo Andreu Bartoli said that India was an important market for the company for penetrating the SME sector. He said as opposed proprietary ERP solutions, companies could download Openbravo software freely.

The revenue model was through a licence fee for concurrent use of the software. Bartoli said that business from India was almost between 30 per cent to 50 per cent of the total generated from the Asia-Pacific nations. Headquartered in Spain, Openbravo had been funded by few venture capitalists. In India the ERP market size was of US$ 1.5 billion.
