Property consultants DTZ to expand

Our Bureau Bangalore
International property advisers DTZ has announced its expansion plans in India with an enhanced presence in Bangalore to capitalise on the strong business opportunities arising in the region.

Mark Struckett, chief executive of DTZ Holdings, said: "We have already built an enviable presence in the important strategic markets of North East and South East Asia. By expanding in India, we will be even better placed to provide a seamless integrated service to global corporates eyeing the vast business opportunities arising throughout the Asia Pacific region."

DTZ already has a strong presence in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the Asia Pacific region and in partnership with the Staubach Company, in the Americas. The company's global services are provided by an international team of over 8,000 people operating from 193 offices in 46 countries worldwide.

With a focus on corporate occupiers in the region, DTZ is already working with a number of large occupiers to formulate their Indian real estate strategy and has conducted several significant deals driven by the size of the growing market in India and the needs of the major global corporates, many of whom now look for representation in India.

Prior to the presence in India, the Indian market was being serviced from its London office. The growth of the business will be overseen in London by DTZ Group Director, David Steventon who said: "Business process outsourcing is inevitable and India is the main beneficiary of the resultant demand for real estate services. Such demand underwrites our strategy."

"By combining innovation, local knowledge and internationally recognised analysis techniques, real estate strategies and methodology, we are delivering results to our clients with a level of sophistication and quality consistent with DTZ's service offering worldwide," added Ankur Srivastava, Managing Director, DTZ India.

DTZ's recent clients include companies such as AMD, Cadence, Juniper Networks, KLA-Tencor and Lee Kim Tah. In addition to completed projects, they are currently working on a number of large commercial and industrial mandates in Bangalore, Chennai and Goa, and evaluating both Hyderabad and Pune as potential locations for other clients.
