Ranbaxy's Punjab plant to get green nod

Ranbaxy's new plant near Lalru is set to get environment clearance.
The company had bought around 80 acres for this and was going through the formalities of the process, company sources said. It has approached the state's pollution control board, which has called for the project feasibility report.
The sources said the higher authorities of the department had visited the place and had called for public applications for setting up the plant in that area.
Sources said the board would send the report to the ministry of environment (MoE), after completing the paper work and the rest would depend on the MoE giving the green signal to the company.
"The company is planning to manufacture life-saving drugs in this plant, because these drugs are in demand these days," a source in the pollution control board said.
When contacted, the higher authorities of Ranbaxy Laboratories refused to give details but said that they were planning to set up the plant in Punjab.
