Samsung Electronics, the Korean manufacturer of consumer durables, is raising prices of its flat screen television by up to 5 per cent after the government slapped anti-dumping duty on some television makers.

Samsung India plans to raise prices of its flat televisions next week by between 1 and 5 per cent (Rs 200-1,000), a company spokesperson said today. Samsung’s decision to raise prices comes ahead of the festive season which starts next month with Onam.

The companies ordered with duties were Samsung, LG, Philips, Irico Group Electronics and Shenzen Samsug.
