Sarup Tanneries to increase production

Jalandhar-based Sarup Tanneries Ltd, manufacturer of shoes under the brand "Lotus Bawa", is all set to double the manufacturing capacity of its Himachal Pradesh unit.

Most probably by August, the production capacity will be doubled. The production capacity of the unit is 35,000-40,000 pairs a month at present.

The company is also planning to add 25-30 more franchise outlets throughout India.

Moreover, as part of its diversification plans, it is opening a restaurant chain in Chandigarh, Delhi and Ludhiana. It has also tied up with a Delhi-based firm for construction of a shopping mall in Jalandhar.
