Shah commission to submit complete report

Justice MB Shah Commission of enquiry which concluded its third visit to the state on Saturday said, that it will not submit any interim report and submit a complete report in phases.

“The question of submitting an interim report does not arise. The report will be complete report for that particular part,” said UV Singh, team leader of the visiting panel.

He said, the report will be submitted in two – three phases depending on the volume of work and it will be a complete report. So far, the panel has verified records of about of 145-150 iron ore mining leases.

 

The commission is likely to submit the first phase of the report by third or fourth week of December, said Deepak Mohanty, Director of Mines, Odisha government.

On the mining irregularities in Odisha, Mohanty said there are no blatant violations like in Goa and Karnataka.

However, the commission, which has visited the state thrice in less than a year, did not rule out the possibility of coming here again.
