Shikha Sharma appointed MD & CEO of Axis Bank

Private sector lender, Axis Bank has confirmed the appointment of Shikha Sharma as the Managing Director (MD) and CEO of the bank, following  a board meeting today.

An official statement said that the bank's present Chairman & CEO, P J Nayak has dissented from the decision, and has informed the board that he would be leaving the bank forthwith.

Sharma, who is currently heading as the MD & CEO with the country's second largest lender ICICI Bank's life insurance business - ICICI Prudential Life Insurance , has been appointed at Axis Bank for a period of five years.
