STAR India appoints Sony's Danish Khan as programming head

Khan moves from marketing to fill a position that has been lying vacant

STAR India has roped in former Sony Entertainment Television (SET) marketing head, Danish Khan, as programming head for its leading Hindi general entertainment channel, STAR Plus.

While sources in the company have confirmed the Development, Khan was not available till the filing of this report. “He joined on Monday as programming head of Star Plus,” sources told. Khan will report in to Nachiket Pantvaidya, business head and GM of STAR Plus.

Khan had resigned SET in December after a 10 year stint with the company. While he joined  at MAX, the movie channel of the group in 2002, he was named senior VP and marketing head of SET in 2008.

 

At SET, he was instrumental in in promoting properties like Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, X-Factor and Indin Idol.
