Tata Steel service centre in Bangalore

Ranka Steels, distributors for Tata Steelium and galvanized products in South India said it is setting up of the first authorised service center for Tata Steel in Bangalore.
 
The service centre spread over 30,000 square feet has been set up with an investment of over Rs 8 crore. The facility is an integrated centre with a capacity to process 5,000 tonnes of Tata Steelium per month.
 
The centre will undertake the cutting, slitting and packaging of CR coils, which are customised according to the customer's requirements.
 
Inaugrating the centre, H M Nerurkar, Vice-president-KPO, Tata Steel said, "By putting up a fully automated service centre in short time, Ranka Steels is ready to cater to new strategy of Tata Steel in targeting smaller businesses needs which are diverse."
 
"The integrated facility, amongst the few of its kind in India, is capable of performing operations like cut-to"�length, slitting and shearing of complete range of Cold Rolled and Coated Steel, all under one roof. This is of great value to customers who require customised solution exactly catering to their specific requirements. With steel becoming a commodity, such value addition is the only way to go," said Ashok Ranka, Director, Ranka Steels.
