Trendyworks to launch web entrepreneur course in Feb

BS Reporter Chennai/ Hyderabad

City-based web products company, Trendyworks Technologies Private Limited, will be launching its Web Entrepreneur Programme (WEP) from the second week of February with an intake of 200 for each batch.

The WEP modules include web design with the company’s primary product ‘Trendy Site Builder’, web hosting, domain registration, Internet advertising and search engine optimisation. The course is aimed at graduates, especially engineers, MCAs, MBAs, job seekers and professionals.

“There is a soaring demand for web consultants and Trendy has embarked on the WEP to cater to the huge market. Though there are over 1,000 web hosting providers active in India, they are mainly concentrated in the top 10 metros. Smaller cities and towns remain completely untapped. There is a projected need for an additional 100,000 web consultants to meet the demand,” Neeraj Jewalker, founder and chief executive of Trendyworks, told mediapersons here.

According to conservative estimates, the Indian market offers huge potential with 20 million businesses. The country currently has half-a-million websites. This number is poised to grow 10 times to 5 million websites in the next five to 10 years, he said, adding “the fees for the three-month duration course has been fixed at Rs 24,500, and the programme is expected to bring in Rs 3 crore revenues in the first year of launch.”

The five-year-old export-oriented company reported revenues of $1.1 million (about Rs 5.39 crore) last year and expects to close the current fiscal with $3 million (Rs 14.7 crore).
