The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, annually conducts Odisha Teachers Eligibility Test (OTET) for the applicants keen on career as a teacher in primary or secondary schools of the state. The notification for the same will soon be announced on the board’s official website bseodisha.nic.in.
According to media reports, the application forms will be available in September 2016 and the last date of submission of online application in October 2016.

The exam is conducted in two sessions, i.e. Papar I and Paper II. Interested candidates can appear for either one, based on their educational qualification. If a candidate applies for both the papers, his/her application would be disqualified.

Educational requisite for OTET
Candidates keen on Paper I exam need to have Higher Secondary certification (+2 or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and two years Diploma in Elementary Education, or two years Diploma in Education (Special Education) approved by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), or a graduate with two years Diploma in Elementary Education or two years Diploma in Special Education approved by RCI.
For Paper II, the candidates need to be graduate with at least 50% marks with 1 year Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) or 1 year B.Ed. (Special Education) approved by RCI, or Higher Secondary (+2 or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years B.A. Ed./ B.Sc. Ed. (integrated course).
Candidates who are pursuing (Final Year) of any of the teacher education courses (recognized by NCTE or RCI) can also appear for OTET 2016.
