Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Bharuch on flood alert

| Authorities sounded flood alert in at least 80 villages across Gujarat mainly located in Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Bharuch. |
| The heavy rains across the state continued resulting in the swelling of rivers in these districts. |
| Narmada in Vadodara and Sabarmati in Ahmedabad districts received fresh inflow of water following water discharged from Kadana and Narmada dams. |
| The Narmada Dam is overflowing and the Sabarmati river has registered water an inflow of nearly 60,000 cusecs due to rains in upstream areas. |
| Authorities had to release 3 lakh cusecs of water from Kadana Dam due to heavy rains in Rajasthan which is adding to the worries of the administration in Vadodara, Kheda and Bharuch districts. |
| Savli, Karjan and Padra taluks of Vadodara districts are facing grave situation as fresh inflow of water is expected from Kadana Dam in Panchmahal district. About 10 lakh cusec water was released from the Kadana Dam yesterday. |
| Of the 80 villages, 72 villages in Bharuch and Vadodara districts are located near the banks of river Narmada and according to the authorities low-lying areas are facing threats of flood triggered by heavy inflow of water from Madhya Pradesh. |
| On the other hand, 18 villages of Ahmedabad district are also put under flood alert. These villages are located on the banks of rivers Vatrak and Mazum in Ahmedabad district. Vatrak and Mazum rivers flow through Mehsana and Sabarkantha districts. |
| City administration said that around two lakh cusecs of water is expected in these rivers by this evening. The authorities were ready for the evacuation if the need arises. |
| According to government officials, the Ukai Dam on Tapi in Surat district received a fresh inflow of around 5.23 lakh cusecs today. Several trains bound for Rajasthan were cancelled following the reports of floodings on tracks in Rajasthan. Many travellers were stranded on Ahmedabad's Kalupur junction. |
