Asian indices perk up in early trades

The Asian markets have posted gains in early trades following a smart rally in the US markets.

The Nikkei has surged 387 points to 14,887. The Hang Seng has flared up 347 points to 16,445.

The Seoul Composite index has gained almost 3% at 1268. The Straits Times and Taiwan Weighted indices are up around 2% each at 2386 and 6417, respectively.
