CEPT in pact with Scotland university for UG course

Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology University's (CEPT) undergraduate engineering programme in civil construction technology will establish its first global collaboration next month.
CEPT's collaborating partner will be the Scotland-based University of Dundee which had sent its team in February to explore possible future interaction between the two universities.
The framework of the tie-up is in such a way that to complete the bachelor's degree course, students will have to divide the academic time between CEPT's School of Building and Technology (SBST) and Dundee.
"Some subjects like concrete technology and environment studies will be taught at both to enable students to get different perspectives," said Sudhir Sapre, head of School of Building Science and Technology.
Study materials and faculty will also be exchanged as part of the tie-up.
Collaboration will involve joint research projects in damage assessment, repairs and rehabilitation, material testing, quality assurance, event management, project management, valuation and real estate, among others.
The university had made efforts to ink similar undergraduate courses in the US, Australia and Singapore. On this Sapre said, "We have 'invisible MoUs' with many organisations and universities."
It has also signed MoUs with construction companies, including Gammons India, JMC Projects, Gannon Dunkerley, Samson (Eco Friendly) Materials and Gujarat Sidhee Cement, he added.
