CII plans centre for excellence

The Confederation of Indian Industry today said it would set up a centre of excellence to reward and recognise companies that contribute towards the development of natural and social capital even while remaining highly competitive.

Addressing a news conference here, CII President YC Deveshwar said sustainable competitiveness, which covers the "triple bottomline" of people, planet and profit, was the thrust for CII this year.

"Sustainability would thus be the new dimension of CII's continuing work on competitiveness across all sectors - agriculture, manufacturing and services," he said.
