CII plans film market every year

The Confederation of Indian Industry eastern region, which organised a 'film market' at the recent ninth Kolkata Film Festival, will hold the market every year to develop the market for films for the region.

Kolkata Chalochitra Utsav, Eastern India Motion Pictures Association and West Bengal Motion Pictures Artists Forum collaborated with CII for the market.

A closer producer-distributor network would cater to the enormous market of Bengali speaking population all over the world; and open up new international markets, CII said in a release. Bengali films were bagging national awards and the film mart would showcase these success stories, Sanjay Budhia said.
