GCCI to float youth wing

Gujarat's apex trade and industry body is going young. The Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has decided to promote young blood and groom them as future leaders. The issue was discussed at the executive committee meeting held recently. The committee has taken a decision to float a youth wing.

Some senior members of GCCI had propagated the idea to get young businessmen involved in GCCI's activities. All executive members agreed with idea. The youth wing will take shape in the next term.

The structure of the new set up is not yet ready. "The idea is to create a new rung of leadership in the chamber. The young turks will take the GCCI to new highs," said a member of the executive committee on condition of anonymity.

"There will be a leadership crisis in the future if the issue is not addressed right now," he says.

GCCI will invite young businessman to participate in the GCCI affairs. "The youth wing will arrange their own programmes. They will learn how to deal with other issues of trade and industries in their own way. New young members will give new shape of GCCI," say sources close to the development.
