A World Bank study had revealed that candidates who have graduated under the existing system of education are likely to get rejected by employers. This possibility particularly exists in the case of fresh engineering graduated.
As many as 3.6 million students, over 10,000 teachers and 1,400 administrative staff and officers from 200 government-run colleges and universities are likely to benefit from the fund and the activities it is being used to finance.
Over 77 percent of potential employees in the state are said to have weak technical skills and this is the prime reason for their being rejected for jobs.
"Funding will help the government effectively use tools to improve higher education and make students more employable. The funding will also help us in setting up more centres of excellence in some colleges and universities for skill improvement and research in designated areas," a senior government official said.
