Maharashtra deputy chief minister Gopinath Munde has ruled out the possibility of handing over probe into the Gulshan Kumar murder to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The Mumbai police are investigating the case in the right direction, he told reporters here last night.
Munde was responding to an interview given by music director Nadeem Khan, accused of conspiring to eliminate Gulshan Kumar, to a private television channel in which he expressed his mistrust in the police.

Can an investigating agency be changed on the insistence of an accused? he asked.
Munde, who heads the home ministry, was all praise for police and said six persons suspected to have been involved in the murder were nabbed by them in a very short time.
He justified the ongoing interrogations of film personalities in connection with the murder and said many of them had actually attended the controversial June 12 party organised by smuggler Vicky Goswamy in Dubai.
These interrogations have assisted the probe to a great extent, Munde added.
