Mysore tunes in to FM from today

| Private FM radio network, Big 92.7 FM has made its foray into Mysore. It has set up a seven-member studio in Kuvempunagar and will hit the airwaves from 8 am on the Rajyotsava Day, November 1, with Suprabhata programme. |
| The Bangalore station will provide the required extra backup to the Mysore FM station. |
| Speaking to Business Standard, Karnataka & Kerala cluster director Kamal Mohandas said on Wednesday, an Adlabs Films initiative, 92.7 FM would be foraying into 54 cities by the year-end with an aim to touch 200 million listeners, which is every fifth Indian across the country. |
| While 45 will be with the licences it has obtained "" 20 cities in the north, 7 in the east, 9 each in the west and the south "" the rest will be on the licence of others. Of these, two stations were planned in Mangalore, followed by one at Hubli in Karnataka, taking it to four stations. |
| The Rs 400-crore Adlabs Films Ltd of the Anil Ambani group with investments in transmission equipment, infrastructure and licensing has planned for a 1,000-strong national network. Its first station was launched last October and is present 24/7 in 36 cities. The Mysore station will be the 37th. |
| "In the first phase, we set up stations in the metros. Now, the second phase launches have taken us to mini metros across the country," she said. |
| "We are the first FM radio station in Mysore. The programming mix of the station has been put together after much research and understanding of the local requirements," Mohandas said. |
