NHH plans its first medical college in Ahmedabad

In a first for Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospitals (NHH) , the healthcare group will set up a medical college in Ahmedabad as part of its upcoming 'Health City' in eastern parts of the city.

At a project cost of Rs 100 crore for the first phase, NHH is set to unveil its 300-bed multi-specialty hospital in Ahmedabad by May, said Dr. Devi Shetty, chairman of Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospitals. Spread across over 36 acres of land in Rakhiyal in Eastern Ahmedabad, the NHH Health City will comprise a multi-specialty hospital, medical college, nursing college and paramedical training institute.

Renowned for its low cost offerings for the working class and poor, the hospital will offer a range of services including adult and pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgeries, internal medicine, urology, nephrology with 12 bedded dialysis unit, orthopaedic, spine and joint replacement, neurology, neurosurgery, pediatrics, general surgery, G I and laproscopic surgery, medical gastroenterology, and pulmonology, among others at affordable rates.

 

It will also offer 24 hours emergency services and trauma care and a 24 hours in-house pharmacy too.
