Strong Fundamentals, Slow Reforms

India has strong economic fundamentals, a domestic market, to fall back on and a large pool of skilled workforce. But the slow pace of reforms, lack of a state-of-the-art infrastructure and high cost of doing business are the weaknesses of the economy. Opportuni- ties lie in the knowledge, services and agricultural sectors. However, the threat of increased terrorist attacks and war, competition from low-cost economies like China and the WTO loom large over the economy.
