Tax exemption for pvt PF trusts extended

Giving relief to about 460,000 subscribers of over 2,700 private provident fund (PF) trusts, the finance ministry has extended the income tax exemption for them till March 31, 2013. The subscribers of these private PF trusts faced the threat of their retirement funds coming under the tax net as Budget 2012-13 was silent on this issue.
