Three more ministers join Kiran Cabinet

BS Reporter Chennai/ Hyderabad

Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday inducted three more ministers into his Cabinet barely a fortnight after taking two members on board from the Praja Rajyam Party which had announced its merger with the ruling Congress party last year.

Governor ESL Narashimhan administered oath of office and oath of secrecy to N Uttam Kumar Reddy, G Prasad Kumar and Kondru Murali Mohan at a swearing-in ceremony held at Raj Bhavan on Monday evening.

Reddy and Prasad Kumar hail from Nalgonda and Rangareddy districts in the Telangana region respectively, while Murali Mohan, who currently holds the post of the government’s chief whip, represents Rajam Assembly constituency in the north coastal district of Srikakulam.

Induction of new members into the state Cabinet from Telangana was on the cards for sometime after two ministers from the region quit the posts and one minster was sacked by the chief minister. Kumar is also a distant relative of former Union minister G Venkata Swamy.

With the induction of the new members, the total strength in the Cabinet rose to 41.
