Unified licensing hailed

International telecommunication consultants Shosteck group has hailed the regulatory framework in the Indian telecommunication sector.

"India has embarked on a remarkable voyage, launched by the deregulation of its telecommunications market," said Herschel Shosteck, president and chairman of Shosteck Group.

In a white paper published recently, the consultancy said the decision to implement unified licensing for basic and cellular mobile services was the most significant thing to have happened to the Indian telecom market.
