Firms In Rush To Raise Foreign Currency Loans

The continuous appreciation of the rupee against the dollar and the softening forward premiums have prompted a sharp uptake in foreign currency non-resident (bank) loans.
The six-month annualised forwards are almost at 4 per cent, having closed at 4.04 per cent today, while the spot rupee closed at a seven-month high of 48.51/51.75.
