No concerns of short selling, says Sebi chief

Sebi is closely monitoring the markets and has verified with the stock exchanges that there are no settlement issues, said Sebi Chairman C B Bhave.

Yesterday’s settlement went through smoothly and it is expected that the settlement tomorrow will also be smooth, he said.

There is no concern that institutions may be short selling, he said, adding that there are no volumes in the borrowing and lending markets. Bhave also said that there are no indications of any violation of short selling rules.
