Sanyal to head ABN Amro

ABN Amro today announced the appointment of Meera Sanyal as country executive. Her appointment follows the resignation of Romesh Sobti to join IndusInd Bank as the managing director and chief executive officer.

Sanyal has been with the bank for 23 years and has experience in consumer, commercial and investment banking. She has been using this experience to develop in-sourcing centres in India that provide services to the ABN Amro group globally.

She has also been running the bank's operations, information technology and corporate services for 16 Asian countries.
