Youth Affairs and Sports to be held in New Delhi tomorrow
The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has convened a daylong Conference of Ministers and Secretaries of the states /UTs in- charge of Youth Affairs and Sports in New Delhi on 15 November, 2016. Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs and Sports shri Vijay Goel will be Chief Guest on the Occasion. Union Ministers shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy and shri Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore have also consented to address the conference during the inaugural session.
During the conference the key issues to be discussed with the States and UT representatives under Department of Sports are: Khelo India, Funding of State Federations, Implementation of Sports Code, Sports in concurrent list, Promotion of excellence in sports, Talent Search, Integration of education with sports, sports quota in jobs and welfare of athletes and Maintenance of SAI Centers, Skill Development programs for Coaches etc.
Discussion on achieving better synergy among activities of Youth Organisations (NYKS, NSS, NCC, Scouts & Guides, Indian Red Cross Society, Eco Clubs) as well as between these Organisations and Government Ministries/Departments will be part of discussions under Department of Youth Affairs.
