Creation of New Battalion

A proposal for raising of additional battalions of BSF is under consideration in this Ministry. The strength of these battalions and the Key Location Plan (KLP) has not been decided yet. Apart from this, to deal with terrorist activities in the country, a proposal for establishment of one Regional Hub of NSG in Gujarat, with a strength of 460 personnel, is also under consideration of the Government.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju in a written reply to Dr. A. Sampath, Smt. Kothapalli Geetha and Shri P.K. Biju in the Lok Sabha today.
