The Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju has participated in the Run for Unity at Kalaktang, East Kameng District, on Indo-Bhutan border in Arunachal Pradesh, today. The programme was onganized as part of Rashtriya Ekta Divas to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31st October.
Shri Kiren Rijiju while addressing the gathering, stressed on the importance of the concept of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat to honour the memory of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and revive & reinforce the values of unity, good governance and grassroot development. The Minister assured the people of North East that he is making all out efforts so that no one suffers from biases, prejudices & racial discrimination. He urged them to maintain peace and contribute to the progress of the State and the Nation.
Other programmes like pledge taking ceremony in government offices, March-Past were also organized during the day. Large number of people turned up for the event and participated with enthusiasm and zeal.
