Review of security of aircraft in the backdrop of recent incident with an Air India flight at Jeddah.

In the backdrop of recent incident of recovery of a suspected item in Air India flight at Jeddah, to review the security arrangements, Hon'ble Minister for Civil Aviation chaired a meeting on October 09, 2014 with senior Government officials from Ministry of Civil Aviation, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, National Security Guards, Central Industrial Security Force and Air India.

The findings of the inquiry conducted regarding the incident were examined. It was decided to ensure that such incidents are not repeated by making the security inspections more effective, providing training to the staff, procuring additional equipment required and frequent reviews.
