Waiver of deployment charges
Chief Minister of Odisha vide his letters dated 11.02.2015 and 10.06.2015 has requested for a complete waiver of charges towards deployment of the Central Forces in Odisha for tacking Left Wing Extremism. The request of the State Government of Odisha has been examined and the State Government has been informed that as per extent policy of the Government, all States, except the few special category States viz; North Eastern States, Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, are required to bear full charges for deployment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) in their States. Further, it has also been informed that the Central Government is incurring huge expenditure on deployment of CAPFs in the States and due to overall constraint of resources, it is not feasible to exempt the State Government from payment of deployment charges. This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju in a written reply to a question by Shri Balabhadra Majhi in the Lok Sabha today.
