The world's largest economy is not the greatest country. It ranks 28 on United Nations (UN) health goals, just below Japan and just above Estonia, according to a report published in Lancet. The report says there are many shortcomings in sustainable development efforts around the world. It reveals that Iceland, Singapore and Sweden are the top countries in terms of implementation of UN development health goals. Taking the UN's sustainable development goals as a benchmark - which measure poverty, clean water, education, societal inequality and industry innovation - more than 1,870 researchers from 124 countries collected data regarding 33 different indicators of progress on UN health goals. Researchers have so far been able to evaluate just 70 per cent of the UN health indicators.
