IIM-A, MNRE plan award for solar innovation

The Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) at IIM Ahmedabad and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has announced an award for Solar Innovation Programme.

The programme aims at promoting out-of-the-box thinking in use of solar energy to solve energy problems of the country and minimise impact to the environment.

"The Solar Innovation Programme is an ideal way of approaching the energy crisis and climate change issues in the country. The ministry is completely dedicated to promoting development of innovative ideas by the faculty and students and aims at further scaling up the programme to include all renewable energy sources .The aim is to institutionalise the programme and develop it into a focal point of clean energy incubation in the country," said PC Maithani, director, MNRE.
