ISCOM offers course in info security

Pune-based International School of Corporate Management (ISCOM) has devised a one-year full-time course in information security management.
 
Christened PRISM (Programme in Information Security Management), the course is intended to empower information technology professionals to take up responsibility for managing the organisations' information security and be the advisers and consultants of top management.
 
Iscom's director Keshav Rae told the media recently that with Indian IT sector rising up the value chain of global outsourcing business, it was necessary for the firms to have strict checks in place to assure the best security of third party information.
 
Citing Nasscom findings, Rae said the global shortfall of information security professionals was likely to touch 100,000 by the end of this year.
 
The course has been launched in co-operation with MIEL e-Security Pvt Ltd - floated by Mukand Iron & Steel - Rae said, adding that the latter has agreed to offer assured employment to the candidates passing out of each batch, with compensation exceeding Rs 3 lakh per year.
 
The course content will include all the technical subjects related to information security. The candidates will also be taught principles of management and soft skills. The course fee for PRISM will be Rs 1.97 lakh all-inclusive.
