Tamil Nadu-based Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has extended the final date for the submission of applications for the undergraduate B Tech admissions 2015-16 at its campuses in Chennai and Vellore.
VIT vice chancellor G Vishwanathan said students could submit them till March 15. Speaking to mediapersons on Monday in Hyderabad, he said the final year undergraduate students this year would get more placement offers from the top businesses visiting its campuses.
"We expect the placements season this time to be much better than that of the previous year," Vishwanathan said.
According to VIT, around 194,000 students had applied for its computer-based engineering entrance exam (VITEEE), including 37,000 from the united Andhra Pradesh, in 2014. A total 29,000 students are pursuing various UG and master's programmes at its two campuses in Tamil Nadu.
