Wipro had selected executives ranging from senior managers to vice presidents for a 10-month post-graduate programme, which commenced in June 2005.

The CMS course is designed to provide participants with an introduction to graduate management studies and covers four key areas "" organisational behaviour, finance, marketing management and strategic management.

"We have redefined the e-Learning process with specially-designed programmes to cater to the working executives and professionals. The use of interactive capabilities encourages intellectual exchanges among students and faculty," he said.

The programmes emulate all aspects of traditional, classroom-based learning through the creative use of active web-based communication tools like email, real-time chat, threaded discussions and public folders, to exchange information allowing students to be connected anytime, anywhere, Rangan added.

Speaking on the occasion, D Selvan, vice president and head, talent transformation, Wipro said, the second batch of senior executives will commence in June this year.

This will include three new certificate programmes in finance, marketing and information systems management. It plans to train 50-100 employees every quarter under the programme, he said.

The company is actively considering the possibility of asking its employees who undergo these courses to sign a bond that will make them stay with the company for a certain period.

"This will help us select only the serious employees and eliminate those who want to leave the company after attaining the degree from U21Global," he said.
