| U21Global, a international online graduate school, on Monday announced the graduation of Wipro's pilot batch of over 100 senior executives from the U21Global certificate of management studies (CMS) programme. |
| Wipro had selected executives ranging from senior managers to vice presidents for a 10-month post-graduate programme, which commenced in June 2005. |
| The CMS course is designed to provide participants with an introduction to graduate management studies and covers four key areas "" organisational behaviour, finance, marketing management and strategic management. |
| The programme is aimed at providing executives with an insight into fundamental management skills and solid grounding in management, U21Global country manager Girish Rangan told reporters, here. |
| "We have redefined the e-Learning process with specially-designed programmes to cater to the working executives and professionals. The use of interactive capabilities encourages intellectual exchanges among students and faculty," he said. |
| The programmes emulate all aspects of traditional, classroom-based learning through the creative use of active web-based communication tools like email, real-time chat, threaded discussions and public folders, to exchange information allowing students to be connected anytime, anywhere, Rangan added. |
| Speaking on the occasion, D Selvan, vice president and head, talent transformation, Wipro said, the second batch of senior executives will commence in June this year. |
| This will include three new certificate programmes in finance, marketing and information systems management. It plans to train 50-100 employees every quarter under the programme, he said. |
| The company is actively considering the possibility of asking its employees who undergo these courses to sign a bond that will make them stay with the company for a certain period. |
| "This will help us select only the serious employees and eliminate those who want to leave the company after attaining the degree from U21Global," he said. |
