Arabica prices rise by Rs 400

Domestic traders were active at the Arabica Plantation on sale at the Indian Coffee Trade Association (ICTA) auction here on Thursday. This sudden demand saw prices rising up to Rs 400.
 
According to the auctioneers, Carritt Moran and Company, Robusta Cherry also attracted good domestic traders enquiry with prices firming up by Rs 250.
 
Today's auction saw 384 tonne on offer for sale (last week 453 tonne) out of which only 119 tonne were sold. About 197 tonne of Arabica and 187 tonne of Robusta were on sale at the auction.
 
Following are the prices quoted for grades in Rs/50kg. Arabica varieties: Arabica Plantation PB Rs 5,730 (5,464 kg), Arabica Plantation MNEB Rs 5,550 (1,496 kg), Arabica Plantation A Rs 5,462 (9,550 kg), Arabica Plantation B Rs 5,069 (990 kg), Arabica Plantation C Rs 4,779 (1,081 kg), Arabica Plantation BBB Rs 3,620 (13,403 kg), Arabica Cherry PB Rs 3,800 (418 kg), Arabica Cherry A Rs 4,400 (2,000 kg), Arabica Cherry B Rs 4,150 (3,000 kg), Arabica Cherry C Rs 3,173 (5,423 kg), Arabica Cherry BBB Rs 3,041 (5,692 kg), Robusta varieties: Robusta Parchment BBB Rs 2,900 (3,155 kg), Robusta Cherry PB Rs 3,330 (12,580 kg), Robusta Cherry AA Rs 3,501 (7,344 kg), Robusta Cherry AB Rs 3,465 (21,170 kg), Robusta Cherry C Rs 3,050 (1,653 kg) and Robusta Cherry BBB Rs 3,005 (818 kg).
