BHEL up on provisional numbers

Public sector power major Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) surged close to 6 per cent from its previous close of Rs 2,153.60 to touch an intraday high of Rs 2,280, before settling for a close at Rs 2,254 "" a gain of about 5 per cent.
 
The volumes traded on the counter were twice as much as its two-week average quantity traded at over 3 lakh shares. The rally followed an announcement by the company of its provisional figures for FY07.
 
According to these numbers, the turnover has increased by 28.8 per cent in FY07 and its net profit rose by 42 per cent from Rs 1,679 crore in FY06 to Rs 2,385 crore in FY07.
 
The order inflow for the company surged by a whopping 88 per cent from Rs 18,938 crore in FY06 to Rs 35,633 crore in FY07.
