Castorseed prices fell by Rs 75 to Rs 3,411 per quintal in futures trade today following heavy selling at existing higher levels.
Marketmen said reports of strong sowing due to good rainfall and increased arrivals into local markets mainly pulled down castorseed prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed prices for most active October contract dropped by Rs 75, or 2.15%, to Rs 3,411 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,32,900 lots.
Near November contract slided by Rs 68, or 1.90%, to Rs 3,510 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 39,550 lots.
Far January contract too lost Rs 70, or 1.83% at Rs 3,758 per quintal, in an open interest of 70,230 lots.
