Festive demand caps losses

Chana prices moved down by Rs 0.48% to Rs 4,746 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators booked profits.

Festive and marriage season demand capped the losses, traders said.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in November fell by Rs 23, or 0.48%, to Rs 4,746 per quintal, with an open interest of 8,880 lots.

December chana moved down by Rs 14, or 0.31%, to Rs 4,520 per quintal, with an open interest of 78,120 lots.
