Chana futures decline on fresh arrivals

Press Trust of India New Delhi

Chana prices declined by Rs 8, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 2,185 per quintal in futures market today on subdued demand and fresh arrivals in the physical market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, chana for September declined by Rs 8, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 2,185 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,02,010 lots.

The commodity for delivery in October month also traded lower by Rs 2, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 2,257 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,17,570 lots.

Traders said subdued demand in the spot market against fresh arrivals from producing regions mainly helped chana prices to trade lower at futures trade.
