Educomp up on Pearson JV

Educomp Solutions shares rose 11 per cent to Rs 3,427 on reports that the Pearson group will support its vocational learning venture. Pearson, the UK-headquartered education and information company, will acquire 50 per cent in Educomp’s vocational training business for $17.5 million. The venture will leverage Educomp’s existing network and Pearson’s capabilities in the education space. The stock made an intra-day high of Rs 3,464 and a low of Rs 3,105. A total of 550,000 shares changed hands in Wednesday’s trade. The stock has recorded a 52-week high of Rs 4,020 and a low of Rs 1,331.
