Eicher Motors gains after December motorcycles sales surge 41%

The company announced 41% rise in total two-wheeler sales at 40,453 units in Dec 2015

Shares of Eicher Motors were up over 2% at Rs 17,785 on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the company announced 41% rise in total two-wheeler sales at 40,453 units in December 2015 which includes exports of 416 units.

Sales of two-wheelers with engine capacity upto 350cc surged 49% to 37,475 units in December 2015 compared with 25,092 units in December 2014, the company said in a release.

However, sales of two-wheelers with engine capacity exceeding 350cc were lower by 16% at 2,978 units in December 2015 compared with 3,542 units in December 2014, the release added.

The stock opened at Rs 17,698 and touched a high of Rs 17,974. At 10:25am, over 37,000 shares were traded on both the stock exchanges.
